Originally from Standish, Maine, Sarah Assante brings a wealth of experience to her position having been hired in 2017. She is fresh off a year as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Southern Maine Community College where she helped the SeaWolves to a 24-5 overall record and a trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament. Adding to her coaching resume, she was the assistant coach at Windham High School and coached in the AAU for the Maine Renegades. Assante was also a standout point guard for Saint Joseph's (Me.) and led the Monks to a GNAC title in 2015, their first as a program. She is just the third player in Saint Joseph's history to tally at least 500 points, 350 rebounds, 250 assists, and 150 steals. Assante also served as the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and as the vice president of the Academic Senate. She will be pursuing her Master of Science degree in Organizational and Professional Communication.
