Six Selected to Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team
WESTON, Mass. – Six Regis College student-athletes, three from the women's lacrosse team and three from the field hockey team, have been selected to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Division III Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, as the national organization of content creators announced the honorees Tuesday, June 25.
In order to be eligible for selection to the Academic All-District® Team, student-athletes must have posted at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, must be a sophomore or higher, and must have either played 90 percent or started 66 percent of their team's official contests.
Hope Alto (Boston, Mass.) earned Second Team All-GNAC recognition after leading the conference with a Regis single-season record 165 draw controls, finishing eighth in Division III in draw controls per game at 9.71. She led the team with 60 goals, seventh-most in a single season in women's lacrosse history, and tied the Regis single-match record with eight goals at UMass Dartmouth. Alto is pursuing her master's degree in occupational therapy.
Olivia Bell (Poland, Maine) was a defensive mainstay for the field hockey team throughout her collegiate career, starting 46 of the 47 matches she appeared in over the past three seasons. She started all 18 matches in 2023 and led the Pride to their first GNAC Tournament berth since 2019. Graduating with her bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine, Bell was a three-time NFHCA Scholar of Distinction and finished with a 3.95 grade point average.
Retta Hatin (Hooksett, N.H.) appeared in 17 matches for the lacrosse team, including seven starts. She earned a career-high six assists this past season, highlighted by two assists against Maine-Farmington March 14. She also scored goals against UMass Boston and Elms. Hatin, also a member of the Regis soccer team, is majoring in biology on a pre-optometry track and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average during her first two years in college.
Sarah Juskiewicz (Gorham, Maine) started all 17 matches she appeared in during the 2023 season, scoring a career-high six goals. She scored a key goal in the team's 3-2 victory at Albertus Magnus and picked up two goals against Anna Maria. Graduating with her bachelor's degree in business management, Juskiewicz received the Sloane School of Business and Communication Outstanding Business Student Award, plus she was a three-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Macie Mannone (Lunenburg, Mass.) started all 18 matches during the 2023 season and finished with six defensive saves, tied for third in the GNAC. She made two defensive saves against eventual GNAC champion Johnson and Wales Sept. 12. During the academic year, Mannone helped establish the Regis Future Teachers Association and was selected a NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. Mannone is majoring in early childhood education with a 3.94 GPA.
Mia Rogers (Revere, Mass.) started all 16 matches she appeared in for the Pride during the 2024 lacrosse season, finishing with nine goals, two assists, 22 groundballs, and nine caused turnovers. She scored two goals against Maine-Farmington March 14 and then picked up one goal and one assist against UMass Boston March 16. Now a two-time Academic All-District® honoree, Rogers graduated with her bachelor's degree in nursing and was selected Academic All-GNAC three times during her collegiate career.
Alto has been selected as a finalist for Academic All-America® consideration, with the national ballot to be voted on by members of College Sports Communicators. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 16, 2024.
